Dr. Edmund Stassen
Dr.-Ing. Edmund Stassen (born in 1968) has been Chief Operating Officer (COO) and a member of the board with responsibility for the disposal and recovery operations, effectively August, 2008.
Before joining DSD, Dr. Stassen, a graduate in metallurgy and materials engineering, was a director of Conergy AG, Hamburg, responsible for logistics, corporate sourcing and quality management.
Between 1999 and 2004, he was head of national purchasing and returnables bottling at the brewery Beck & Co./Interbrew Deutschland GmbH, Bremen. From 1995 to 1999, Dr. Stassen worked as head of strategic procurement in the Carton Division at Mayr-Melnhof Karton AG, Vienna. As part of his function, from 1995 to 1997 he was head of quality management at Meltra Gesellschaft für Rohstoff- und Entsorgungswirtschaft mbH, Nuremberg, the Recycling Division of the Mayr-Melnhof Group, and was Managing Director of RSI Recyclinganlagen und Handels GmbH, Gera, owned by Meltra.
Dr. Stassen began his career in 1994 as a freelance consultant at ORG-Consult Gesellschaft für Unternehmensberatung mbH, Essen, a company of the RWE Group.
