Used tinplate packages can be melted down 100 percent without any loss of quality to make new steel. Note that a ton of tinplate scrap replaces 1.5 tons of ore and 665 kilograms of coal. This economizes on raw material resources and at the same time cuts CO₂ emissions in the production of new steel significantly. And not least, it ensures cost-efficiency in steel manufacture.
