Cologne, 5 June 2018. Der Grüne Punkt and other European producer responsibility organisations (PROs) have formed PROsPA (Producer Responsibility Organisations Packaging Alliance). The alliance fosters the exchange of knowledge and experiences between PROs operating in different settings but with a common goal: providing a comprehensive environmental compliance service to its customers, when it comes to packaging and packaging waste and developing a circular economy in Europe. Der Grüne Punkt believes that the diversity of operating models among its European counterparts constitutes an asset in the search for the best solutions for a more sustainable planet. PROsPA’s members include PROs that operate in both competition and monopoly systems and under very different operational scopes of waste management.
In addition to Der Grüne Punkt, PROsPA's members are ARA (Austria), Citeo (France), Repak (Ireland), Rekopol (Poland), Sociedade Ponto Verde (Portugal) and Valpak (United Kingdom). Its main goals are:
PROsPA has just launched its website (www.prospalliance.org) to inform its stakeholders and open a new channel for communication.
PROsPA is an Alliance for cooperation and exchange between leading packaging Producer Responsibility Organisations (PRO) in Europe, operating in countries that together represent over 50% of the population and over 60% of GDP of the EU-28. The main task of its members is to manage the efficient implementation of adequate national packaging waste collection and recovery systems.
