Cologne, 11 December 2017. In front of 1,200 invited guests, Der Grüne Punkt was granted the National German Sustainability Award in Düsseldorf on Friday, and thus singled out as one of Germany’s role models in terms of sustainability. In five competitions, prizes were awarded for exemplary sustainability achievements in the business sector, municipalities, and the research community. Der Grüne Punkt won the “Resource-Efficiency” Special Prize.
“Der Grüne Punkt is (…) an outstanding example of how in a sustainable sector a company steadily and purposefully progresses energy-efficiency and materials research by means of technical innovations, supports them through proactive customer communication, and also acts as a lobbyist for the closed-cycle economy,” praised the jury, lauding DSD – Duales System Holding GmbH & Co. KG for its holistic approach to resource-efficiency.
“Sustainability is part of our corporate DNA. For many years now, we have been focusing all facets of our business operations on this. I am particularly delighted to be awarded this prize, and at the recognition of our efforts to progress the closed-cycle economy in Germany,” says a gratified Michael Wiener, CEO of Der Grüne Punkt.
