Cologne, 21 January 2019. Pöppelmann TEKU®, a firm specializing in products for commercial horticulture, will at this year’s IPM trade fair in Essen be showcasing a first new product featuring the RAL’s new “Recycled Plastic” Quality Mark. The plant pots of the Pöppelmann Blue® series are produced from Systalen, the recycled plastic from Der Grüne Punkt. The raw material for making Systalen is used plastic packages from the Yellow Sack.
“This means that for the first time a product featuring the new RAL Quality Mark is being launched on the market,” comments a gratified Dr. Ina Becker, Managing Chairperson of the “Recycled Plastic” RAL Quality Assurance Association. “The mark is a reliable signal for consumers, indicating where the raw material for this product comes from.”
Moreover, after use, the product is returned to the Yellow Sack for recycling, and can then be used again. “Pöppelmann Blue® products are not only made from recyclate, but are themselves recyclable into the bargain,” to quote Dr. Becker. This has been confirmed by independent studies. It means Pöppelmann Blue® creates a completely closed cycle.
“With Pöppelmann Blue® and the RAL Quality Assurance Association, we’re showing what’s possible nowadays in terms of plastic recycling,” explains Dr. Markus Helftewes, General Manager of Der Grüne Punkt. “Thanks to intelligent cooperation, we can successfully channel valuable plastic into actual cycles, thus rendering it sustainably usable.”
You will find the stand of Pöppelmann GmbH & Co. KG at the IPM Essen from 22 to 25 January 2019, Hall 2, Stand 2D.31.
