Cologne, 4 June 2018. Jörg Deppmeyer (46) will effective 1 June 2018 become Managing Director Sales at Der Grüne Punkt. He succeeds Dr. Markus van Halteren (56), who has been with the company for twelve years. Dr. van Halteren will step down from his directorship effective 31 December of this year, and move to the Advisory Board. Up to the end of this year, he will be helping Jörg Deppmeyer settle into his new remit.
“Dr. van Halteren played a crucial role in overseeing the transition from the previous monopolistic system to the competitive dual system, and thus refocused the company in one of its most decisive phases. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for this, and are delighted that he will in future be contributing his expertise to the Advisory Board and actively supporting the company in meeting and mastering further challenges like the German Packaging Act and the EU’s Circular Economy Package,” said Michael Wiener, CEO of Der Grüne Punkt. “In the shape of Jörg Deppmeyer, we are fortunate to have brought on board an experienced and extremely competent personality who will prove a lasting gain for our managerial team.”
Jörg Deppmeyer was most recently General Manager of the Ardagh Group in Weissenthurm. The MBA graduate was previously employed in various senior managerial positions at Coca-Cola and the Kraft Foods Group (nowadays The Kraft Heinz Company).
