At a formal ceremony in Milan, Der Grüne Punkt, together with Nestlé Deutschland AG and DUO PLAST AG, was honored with the prestigious WorldStar Packaging Award 2025 by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) in the category "Packaging Materials and Components."

The award recognizes an innovative stretch hood packaging that, for the first time, uses post-consumer recyclates from the German Yellow Bag system in a technically demanding application. The packaging’s middle layer contains up to 20 percent Systalen^® LDPE – a high-quality recycled material setting new standards for sustainable packaging solutions.

Following the win of the German Packaging Award 2024, this international recognition marks another significant acknowledgment of innovation and collaboration along the value chain, as well as Der Grüne Punkt’s commitment to circular economy and resource conservation. Special thanks go to our project partners as well as Susanne Ziegler and Andreas Kappel, who received the award on behalf of the project in Milan.
