Cologne, Germany, October 10, 2022. Der Grüne Punkt and KNETTENBRECH + GURDULIC (K+G), a leading medium-sized company in the waste management and recycling industry, are entering into a joint venture for the expansion of the circular economy for plastics based on many years of successful cooperation.

In order to be able to achieve the ambitious climate protection targets in Germany, a rapid and ambitious development of the circular economy is required in addition to a vigorous expansion of renewable energy generation. Both companies see the expansion of plastics recycling required in the course of decarbonization as an opportunity to significantly intensify their existing cooperation. The JV creates the basis for this.

Medium-sized companies in particular promote innovative solutions in rural areas and thus make a decisive contribution to maintaining and further developing a sustainable economy. For Türkheim, there is the opportunity to develop one of the most modern locations for the recycling industry in Germany. Against the background of the diversification of strategically problematic dependencies on raw material imports from abroad, this effect is also gaining in importance for the intensification of cooperation between the two companies in Germany.
