This week, GreenDot welcomed a high-ranking delegation from Jordan, whose aim was to learn about Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). After years of preparation, Jordan is about to introduce its own EPR system in 2026.
At the invitation of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and accompanied by cyclos, representatives from the Ministry of Environment, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Packaging Association, and Amman Vision Treatment and Recycling gained insights into the founding phase, structures, challenges, and success factors of the GreenDot.
Ursula Denison and Kai Wörner from GreenDot jointly guided the group through the development of the first dual system and also provided an outlook on the goals of the PPWR. The program was rounded off with an introduction to the work of the Central Agency Packaging Register (Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister, ZSVR) and a presentation of the German initiative “Mülltrennung wirkt”.
It was an inspiring exchange and we are delighted to contribute to knowledge transfer in the circular economy as an international role model.
