Cologne, September 25, 2025. With the official motto of the K trade fair 2025, “The Power of Plastics! Green – Smart – Responsible,” the GreenDot Group will be exhibiting in Düsseldorf from October 8 to 15. This year, Der Grüne Punkt, the group's best-known subsidiary, is celebrating its 35th anniversary, a milestone in the promotion of closed-loop recycling and sustainable recycling solutions in Germany.
For over three decades, Der Grüne Punkt has been setting standards in plastics recycling. With the development of the premium recyclate Systalen® in the plastic types PP and LDPE, obtained from the yellow bag and the yellow bin, packaging waste is turned back into high-quality packaging. In this way, Der Grüne Punkt closes material cycles and makes a decisive contribution to conserving resources.
Live experience: Systalen® in practice
Reifenhäuser traditionally opens its doors at the Troisdorf Technical Center during the trade fair. At the open house events, high-quality LDPE film is produced there, which can be used for packaging purposes. Visitors can experience Systalen® processing live and talk to experts from Der Grüne Punkt in person. Appointments for the Technical Center can be made at the Reifenhäuser trade fair stand.
Further activities of the GreenDot Group
The GreenDot Group is involved in strategic partnerships, advising companies on recycling-friendly packaging design, international projects for the circular economy, and initiatives to optimize municipal collection systems. The aim is to make the entire value chain more sustainable, conserve resources, and actively support the transition to a true circular economy.
To this end, GreenDot invests in infrastructure for plastics recycling, both at the mechanical and chemical levels, to meet the growing demand for high-quality recyclates, whether for films, bottle-to-bottle, or food-grade applications. By integrating state-of-the-art sorting and processing systems, the company is increasing the availability of recycled polyolefins from household waste for high-quality products, including packaging solutions with strict quality requirements.
Actively shaping a sustainable future for plastics
To strengthen the recyclability of polyolefins, GreenDot is expanding its strategic activities beyond PP and LDPE recycling in Germany. Its sorting plants in Milan and Austria, TriPlast, one of the most advanced sorting plants for light packaging waste worldwide, ensure a continuous supply of valuable secondary raw materials for efficient plastic recycling processes. In addition, the partnership with Forplast enables high-quality recycled HDPE in bottle-to-bottle quality as well as for applications in irrigation pipes and cable ducts in the construction sector.
“We are delighted to be actively shaping the future of plastics recycling together with our partners and customers at the K trade fair,” says Laurent Auguste, CEO of GreenDot. “With innovative recycling solutions, the premium recyclate, and our diverse activities in consulting, partnerships, and international projects, we are making the vision of a closed-loop circular economy more tangible every day.”
