Cologne, March 17, 2025. GreenDot keeps on leading towards circularity of polyolefins for packaging. Latest innovations will be presented at the Plastics Recycling Show Europe (PRSE) 2025 on April 1 and 2 in Amsterdam. GreenDot’s solutions enable compliance with the new European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which mandates ambitious recycling and reuse targets by 2030.

GreenDot Makes the Circular Economy of Plastics a reality in Europe

GreenDot drives the circular economy of plastics through its activities as a pioneer and leader in the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system, sorting, and advanced mechanical and chemical recycling. These efforts are complemented by partnerships with petrochemical companies and converters to provide brand owners with packaging that has a high recycled content and a low carbon footprint. The company ensures that polyolefins from household waste are efficiently recovered and integrated into new packaging solutions.

"Our mission is to close the circular economy loop for plastics and lead the industry into a resource-efficient low carbon future," explains Laurent Auguste, CEO of GreenDot. "PRSE 2025 provides the perfect opportunity to showcase our latest developments in sorting, mechanical, and chemical recycling. But even more crucially, it highlights how we uniquely collaborate with value chain partners to make packaging waste to packaging a reality at scale for polyolefins."

Expanding Recycling Capacity

GreenDot continuously invests in plastics recycling infrastructure, both mechanical and chemical, to meet the growing demand for high-quality recyclates whether for films, bottle-to-bottle or food-grade applications. By integrating state-of-the-art sorting and processing systems, the company increases the availability of recycled polyolefins from household waste for high-value products, including packaging solutions with stringent quality requirements.

Strategic Positioning for Sustainable Material Loops

To strengthen the circularity of polyolefins, GreenDot takes strategic positions beyond PP and LDPE recycling in Germany. Its sorting facilities in Milan and in Austria, TriPlast, one of the most advanced sorting facilities for lightweight packaging waste worldwide, ensure a steady supply of valuable secondary raw materials for efficient plastics recycling processes. Additionally, integrating Forplast into the GreenDot Group provides high-quality recycled HDPE in bottle-to-bottle quality, as well as for applications in irrigation pipes and cable ducts in the construction sector.

About the GreenDot group:
The GreenDot group is dedicated to address the plastic waste crisis by developing solutions and assets which close the circularity loop of plastics through the production of high-quality recyclates, including from difficult to recycle waste streams. The group’s portfolio spans both mechanical and chemical recycling, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) licensing services as well as consulting on EPR systems and design-for-recycling.

The foundation of the group was laid more than 30 years ago in Germany with Der Grüne Punkt which created the world’s first nationwide EPR program for household packaging, including hard to recycle plastics like flexible films. Since then the group constantly expanded its business areas in order to serve all requirements of the circular economy for plastics. To date the group has presences in Germany, Austria, Italy, France as well as Belgium, and continues to widen its global network.
