Cologne, March 18, 2026. With the integration of the French RG Group and its two mechanical recycling sites for LDPE in Tence and Saint-Pal-de-Mons, GreenDot continues its journey of extending high-end plastic recycling capacities into Europe. In conjunction with the recycling facilities in Hörstel and Eisfeld in Germany, and in Piacenza, Italy, GreenDot operates a total of five plastics mechanical recycling facilities across Europe. These facilities deliver quality recyclates to converters and brands.
This step marks GreenDot’s first operational presence in France and significantly enhances its expertise in post-commercial and industrial (C&I) PE film recycling. At a time when important local players in the LDPE recycling space are withdrawing from the market, GreenDot strengthens its commitment to enhancing high‑quality recycling of LDPE film suitable for use in packaging applications, and supports the shift towards a more circular plastics economy. This move will provide converters and brand owners with reliable sources of recycled plastic “Made in Europe”, supporting the EU’s strategic independence for critical materials and the necessary reduction of carbon footprint.
Laurent Auguste, CEO of GreenDot, said: “We are honoured that, after the integration of Forplast last year, the highly skilled and recognized RG Group has now decided to join our team. It is an important step in strengthening our ability to act as one of the most reliable players in Europe, accelerating true circularity of plastics packaging. France is a key market in need of increased plastic recycling, and we aim to be a meaningful contributor to this needed transformation. The addition of RG Group to our portfolio of businesses enables us to strengthen our support to brands committed to sustainable packaging to reach the coming PPWR recycled content targets.”
France’s eco-modulation framework has created strong incentives for brand owners to incorporate more “Made in Europe” recycled plastic into their packaging. GreenDot’s expanded activities, particularly in the “plastic valley” near Lyon, will foster regional closed-loop systems and help local industries meet their circularity objectives.
The RG Group currently processes more than 20 kta of LDPE film, with the potential to increase capacity beyond 35 kta. This development strengthens GreenDot position as a rising European leader in LDPE recycling of both post-household and post-commercial streams.
Eric Preynat, CEO of RG Group, commented: “Joining GreenDot enables us to scale our impact and further develop high-performance LDPE recycling in France. Together with GreenDot we are building a stronger European circular economy and creating real value for converters and brand owners.”
With this strategic move, GreenDot continues to expand its European presence and reinforces its role as a leading provider of high-quality recycled plastics to the packaging industry.

About GreenDot:
GreenDot is dedicated to address the plastic waste crisis by developing solutions and assets which close the circularity loop of plastics through the production of high-quality recyclates, including from difficult to recycle waste streams. The group’s portfolio spans both mechanical and chemical recycling, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) licensing services as well as consulting on EPR systems and design-for-recycling.
The foundation of the group was laid more than 35 years ago in Germany with Der Grüne Punkt which created the world’s first nationwide EPR program for household packaging, including hard to recycle plastics like flexible films. Since then GreenDot constantly expanded its business areas in order to serve all requirements of the circular economy for plastics. To date GreenDot has presences in Germany, Austria, Italy as well as France, and continues to widen its global network.
