Around ten employees from Der Grüne Punkt took part in a hands-on glass recycling seminar at GRI Glasrecycling GmbH in Dormagen. The session was led by Ulrich Ix, President of the European Federation of Glass Recyclers FERVER (Fédération Européenne des Recycleurs de Verre).

In the introductory theory segment, Ulrich Ix explained the entire glass recycling process,  from collection and sorting to the use of recycled glass in new products. A particular focus was placed on Design4Recycling (D4R). Using numerous practical examples, he demonstrated the significant impact that product design, labels, closures, or glass colors can have on the recyclability of packaging.

A highlight of the seminar was the subsequent tour of the GRI Glasrecycling GmbH facility, where participants were able to experience and deepen the theoretical content directly in practice.

The seminar provided valuable insights for day-to-day work and once again underscored the central importance of an efficient circular economy.
