Der Grüne Punkt offers companies the opportunity to obtain an individual environmental certificate. The certificates are based on Der Grüne Punkt's current environmental balance sheet, which is audited and confirmed annually by the Institute for Energy and Environmental Research (IFEU) using the Life Cycle Assessment method in accordance with ISO 14040 and 14044.

This year, clients can again order an environmental certificate when submitting their 2024 annual report. The Environmental Certificate Grüner Punkt confirms the beneficial effect of recycling in four impact categories: savings in greenhouse gases, reduction in phosphate and nitrogen compounds, savings in primary energy and avoidance of sulfur dioxide equivalents (“acidification”). It enables companies to make their sustainable activities visible and communicate their commitment to environmental and climate protection in a credible way. It also provides an opportunity to prominently feature sustainability on the company's website or share it on social networks.
