The Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister (Central Agency Packaging Register – ZSVR) has launched a consultation process on the 2025 minimum standard for recyclable packaging. Companies, associations and institutions are invited to comment by July 18, 2025.
The minimum standard will be updated annually and published this year on August 29, 2025 in cooperation with the Federal Environment Agency. The 2025 version will be binding for the first time for all packaging subject to system participation that is placed on the market from January 1, 2026. The innovations are characterized by the stronger connection to the new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
