The German Packaging Act (VerpackG) obliges manufacturers and retailers to take responsibility for the environmentally friendly disposal and recycling of their packaging and at the same time offers legal certainty.

recent example demonstrates how important it is to comply with the requirements: A major mail-order pharmacy based abroad had to pay at least two million euros in retrospective payments because, although it had registered its mail-order packaging in the packaging register, it had not participated in one of the dual systems.

Those who act early, register in the LUCID packaging register, license their packaging at a dual system and report quantities correctly can avoid such back payments. In this way, companies not only benefit from legal certainty, but also from fair competition and a positive perception among customers and partners.
