As part of a professional exchange, Der Grüne Punkt visited Sortierkontor Nord (SKN) in Bremen together with employees from Mondelez Germany. The aim of the visit was to provide a direct insight into the performance and technological advances of a modern sorting plant.

The participants gained exciting insights into the automated sorting of packaging waste, the near-infrared detection technology used, and the challenges and potential in the field of recycling. A total of 14 sorted recyclable fractions are separated there and sent for recycling. The interest and specific questions from the group showed how relevant the topic of circular economy and resource conservation is also perceived on the corporate side.
