With Green Dot Rep GmbH, a new company within the Der Grüne Punkt group, producers from other EU member states as well as third countries can appoint an authorised representative for extended producer responsibility in Germany, as required by law.
From 12 August 2026, a new definition of “producer” will apply under the PPWR (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation). Producers, importers or distributors that are established in an EU member state or a third country and supply end users directly in another member state are considered producers.
Producers are generally responsible for fulfilling the PPWR requirements related to extended producer responsibility. In Germany, this also includes participation in a compliance scheme. This is carried out through an authorised representative for extended producer responsibility (Article 45 paragraph 3 PPWR, section 5 Verpackungsrecht-Durchführungsgesetz).
The authorised representative for extended producer responsibility fulfils your packaging compliance obligations in Germany.
This includes:
- licensing your packaging with Der Grüne Punkt
- submitting volume reports in LUCID
- communication with the authorities
Are you a producer from another EU member state or a third country? Then you can conclude an authorised representative agreement with Green Dot Rep GmbH via the shop verpackgo.com.
Afterwards, you designate Green Dot Rep GmbH in the LUCID system of the Central Packaging Register (ZSVR) as your authorised representative for extended producer responsibility. Once the contract is concluded, Green Dot Rep GmbH accepts your authorisation in LUCID.
Here you can access the one stop shop.
