On March 17 and 18, the German Packaging Congress will be held virtually for the first time. In a partner talk, experts from Der Grüne Punkt will present how post-consumer recyclates can be kept in the materials cycle. Der Grüne Punkt CEO Michael Wiener will take a stand on the political challenges of using recyclates in a high-profile panel discussion.

The organizer, the German Packaging Institute (Deutsches Verpackungsinstitut e.V.), has invited top experts, executives and key opinion leaders from business and NGOs to discuss the global importance of the circular economy – especially under lockdown conditions – and the role of packaging in workshops and panels. The topics will include different paths to greater sustainability, political and technical approaches and challenges in recycling and recyclate, as well as the use of materials ranging from plastics to metal and glass to paper composites, and much more.

Other opinion leaders on the two days include actor and environmental activist Hannes Jaenicke, representatives of NABU, WWF, Werner & Mertz, Nestlé, FRoSTa, Procter & Gamble, BASF, Gerolsteiner, Siegwerk, Reckitt Benckiser, Schwarz-Gruppe and the environmental policy spokeswoman of the FDP parliamentary group Judith Skudelny, MdB.
