“Incredible,” said one participant. “I didn’t imagine such a plant to be so big and modern.” This is just one of several statements made by the participants, which reflect the deep impression left by this special seminar. Der Grüne Punkt had invited to “Recycling live”: In this format, important sorting and recycling plants for packaging waste can be seen again and again. This time, the new sorting plant of TriPlast GmbH in Enns, Austria, opened its doors. It is the largest of its kind in Austria and currently probably the most modern in Europe.
The plant, which was built jointly by the Austrian Green Dot organization ARA AG, Bernegger GmbH and the German GreenDot, sorts around 100,000 tons of used lightweight packaging from Austria and neighboring Germany every year. With 24 sorting fractions at present, it produces more different products than any other plant and also sets new standards in product quality. As a result, the TriPlast achieves higher recycling rates than other plants.
The seminar participants were able to explore all of this up close and received an expert tour and explanation from Patrik Sturmberger from TriPlast and Andreas Kappel from Der Grüne Punkt. The plant is not only more modern than others, it also has special walkways and corridors that make it much easier to view. The rush is enormous: companies, organizations and visitor groups from all over Europe are trying to get in. The GreenDot seminars make such visits possible, with a well-rounded accompanying program.
