On April 3, 2025, representatives from Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences and Arts visited our recycling plant in Hörstel. Many years of experience and continuous innovation make Systec Plastics GmbH in Hörstel the competence center for unmixed recycled pellets and compounds made of polypropylene (PP). During a detailed tour of the modern recycling plant, the participants were given fascinating insights into the various mechanical recycling processes, from sorting and processing to the production of recyclates.

A central part of the visit was the intensive technical exchange about the possibilities and limits of mechanical recycling. Not only were technological developments and aspects of product analysis discussed, but political framework conditions, market requirements and ecological aspects were also considered.

It was a valuable dialog that shows how important close cooperation between industry and science is for the sustainable transformation of the plastics industry.
