Cologne, Friedrichshafen, 15 October 2024. High-quality Systalen® PP is once again being used at Fakuma to demonstrate the performance of modern injection molding technology: The machine manufacturer Haitian International will present its 5th generation of injection molding machines at Fakuma 2024. A Mars Series 200 t machine will produce frisbees from 90 to 95 percent Systalen® PP from Der Grüne Punkt and five to ten percent Vistamaxx™ performance polymers from ExxonMobil.
The company will be demonstrating a total of six live applications at the trade show: three at its own stand and three more at partner stands. With Systalen® PP, Haitian is demonstrating that its technology can be used to manufacture sophisticated plastic products from recycled materials – without compromising on quality or process reliability.
Systalen® PP from Der Grüne Punkt is produced by Systec Plastics GmbH, Hörstel, from plastic packaging waste collected in yellow sacks and yellow bins in Germany. Together with Haitian and ExxonMobil, Der Grüne Punkt has developed a compound that, despite its very high recycled content, has the improved mechanical properties necessary for the production of the toy. “The collaboration with Haitian and ExxonMobil and the renewed use at Fakuma show the performance of Systalen®,” says Jörg Deppmeyer, managing director of Der Grüne Punkt. “Systalen® is a sustainable alternative to conventional plastics made from fossil sources. Compared to virgin materials, it saves more than 50 percent of greenhouse gas emissions.”
