Mark Vester, Executive Vice President of Der Grüne Punkt, welcomed a delegation of 25 participants from Thailand. The background to this is the introduction of extended producer responsibility (EPR) in the Southeast Asian country as part of the new law on sustainable packaging management.

Employees of the Thai Pollution Control Department (PCD) and other relevant stakeholders are learning about packaging management in Germany on a study trip.

With the introduction of EPR, a corresponding infrastructure is to be established in Thailand to reduce environmental impacts and promote a circular economy. To improve the understanding and implementation of EPR, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, the Danish Environmental Protection Agency (DEPA) and the Royal Danish Embassy in Thailand have organized the study tour for relevant stakeholders in the packaging management value chain.
