The input for the recycling plants in Hörstel and Eisfeld comes from household collections in Germany and other EU countries, such as Austria. The quantities of input received and processed (baled PP and LDPE) are tested and certified annually in accordance with the ISO EN 15343:2007 standard. This central European directive describes the principles for the traceability and evaluation of the proportion of recycled plastics in products. This supports the circular economy and strengthens the credibility of recycled materials in the material flow.
Our two recycling facilities and Der Grüne Punkt are managed by their own waste management specialists and waste officers. The waste officers prepare an annual waste report in accordance with the German Closed Substance Cycle Waste Management Act (Kreislaufwirtschaftsgesetz KrWG). This report covers the following topics: documentation of waste quantities, origin and generation, disposal routes, verification, waste prevention measures, compliance with legal requirements and responsibilities.
