We offer our customers legally compliant licensing (Extended Producer Responsibility, EPR) for packaging and also advise them on optimising the design and recyclability of their packaging. In this way, we help them reduce their environmental impact and contribute to resource conservation and emission reduction, as well as closing the recycling loop wherever possible.

Our premium post-consumer recyclates of the Systalen® brand offer a resource-saving alternative to primary plastics. They make an important contribution to circular economy by converting packaging waste into new, high-quality plastic products, thereby extending the life cycle of plastics.

More and more companies are recognising the advantages of secondary plastics and are aware of their responsibility towards end consumers and the environment. The minimum recycled content requirements for plastic packaging (Art. 7) stipulated in the PPWR (Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation) will further increase the demand for post-consumer recyclates in the coming years.

In line with our sustainable business policy, we also comply with all mandatory reporting requirements for marketing and labelling in the production and distribution of our Systalen® recyclates.

The raw material for our post-consumer recyclates is waste from household collections (yellow bags and bins) in Germany and other European countries. This waste is first pre-sorted in sorting plants for lightweight packaging (LWP) according to agreed specifications and then delivered to our recycling plants in bales with appropriate labelling and accompanying documents as the raw material for our recyclates.

After successful incoming goods inspection, several shredding and cleaning stages follow, as well as float-sink separation (density separation). The plastic flakes are then melted, degassed, microfiltered and finally granulated. The result is high-quality Systalen® PCR granulates, which can be easily processed into new packaging or products. For each production batch and delivery, the analyses agreed in the customer specification are carried out in accordance with testing standards.

Our production sites in Hörstel and Eisfeld have their own test laboratories, which are equipped with state-of-the-art laboratory technology for measuring all relevant mechanical and physical properties of our post-consumer recyclates. Thanks to our long-standing partnership with an accredited testing institute, we also offer our customers tailor-made, batch-related regulatory analyses. The test values are provided in a test certificate.

All containers with products in our two Systec Plastics plants are marked during production and labelled so that they can be seamlessly assigned or traced if necessary. Each container is clearly marked with the following mandatory and additional information, for example:

  • Item description
  • Item number
  • Batch number
  • Weight
  • Production date
  • Barcode

Continuous monitoring and documentation of the quality of our products is a matter of course for us. The implementation and communication of product and application information in accordance with legal requirements, standards and target groups is one of the central tasks of the QHSEE (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment, Energy) department. Upon request, we confirm compliance with standards and regulations to our customers via our declaration of conformity.

RecyClass:

The tested recycling process and the associated management systems meet the requirements of the Recycling Process Audit Scheme Version 1.0 in accordance with EN 15343:2007 and have the necessary procedures in place to ensure the traceability of recycled plastics. This is confirmed annually by RecyClass certificates.

RAL:

The origin of recycled materials from household waste collection is verified by independent experts for members of the “RAL Gütegemeinschaft Rezyklate aus haushaltsnaher Wertstoffsammlung e.V.” (RAL Quality Assurance Association for Recycled Materials from Household Waste Collection). This ensures that the origin is fully verified and quality-assured throughout the entire recycling chain.
