For two days every year, the Netherlands is the meeting place of the European plastics recycling industry: At the PRS Plastics Recycling Show Europe, the industry who's who meets there to exchange ideas and present recycling technology and recyclates.
For the first time, Der Grüne Punkt/Green Dot is an individual exhibitor and will be showing the wide range of its Systalen® recyclates, exclusively from household recycling collection, PP and LDPE. Systalen® can replace virgin plastics in injection moulding, extrusion and blow moulding in many applications and is produced at two technically well-engineered sites in Germany, which also manufacture customised Systalen® products on customer request.
The plastics industry is increasingly turning to Systalen® because the material is suitable for demanding as well as innovative applications. For example, there is now seating furniture with shells made of Systalen rPP in the furnishing sector. In addition, Green Dot has achieved a breakthrough in the recycling of post-consumer film: PCR film waste from the yellow bag can be used again as film or container film.
Our experts are looking forward to informing the fair visitors not only about the technical possibilities of mechanical processing of plastic waste from the yellow bag and the yellow bin, but also about Green Dot's activities to create the first integrated solution of mechanical and chemical recycling on an industrial scale for plastic packaging.
Jörg Deppmeyer, Managing Director of Der Grüne Punkt, says: "The aim of our group of companies is to provide a holistic solution for the recyclability of a wider range of plastic waste, including waste streams that are not suitable for mechanical recycling and that are today incinerated or - outside Germany - even landfilled. We are developing a unique approach by combining sales packaging licensing and direct access to the recyclables stream - whether mechanically or chemically recycled - on an international scale."
The PRS Plastics Recycling Show Europe will take place over 2 days from Wednesday 10 May to Thursday 11 May 2023 at the RAI, Amsterdam.
