Scope now possible for 30 countries

Der Grüne Punkt upgrades its "Recyclingfähig/Recyclable" label

News Bild Der Grüne Punkt upgrades its "Recyclingfähig/Recyclable" label

The recyclability of packaging is becoming increasingly important. Politicians are demanding it and an ever-increasing number of consumers want it. However, whether and to what extent packaging is recyclable is not necessarily obvious.

Der Grüne Punkt has responded to this need for information and developed a certificate-based packaging label in the form of the Recyclingfähig/Recyclable label. Anyone wishing to use the label must subject the entire packaging in question (including labels, lids, sealing films etc., but without contents) to a strict test procedure by the independent and internationally renowned cyclos-HTP institute for a fee. The underlying assessment criteria for the certification correspond to the current minimum standard for the assessment of recyclability for packaging subject to system participation of the Central Agency Packaging Register (ZSVR).

New: extended scope and label in English

With immediate effect, the scope of the cyclos-HTP certificate has been adapted to include 30 countries (EU, the United Kingdom (UK), Norway and Switzerland). The Recyclinfähig/Recyclable label may therefore be used in those countries for which a result of at least 90 percent recyclability was achieved for the entire packaging in the test certificate. The duration of use corresponds to the validity period of the certificate. It is now also possible to use the English version of the label.

Use of the label is still free of charge and does not require a customer relationship with Der Grüne Punkt.
