Design for Recycling – Best Practice

In order to say precisely what facilitates the recyclability of a particular package, every packaging solution has to be considered as an individual case. Factors with beneficial effects on the recyclability of a sustainable package include:

1. light coloring in the case of plastic packages
2. using monomaterials instead of a material mix
3. an optimized labeling solution for the package concerned
4. an optimized closure solution for the package concerned
5. separability of components in the recycling process
